Comment:

 Since Backbone is decidedly past its prime and all the affection is going
 toward more modern frameworks, I'm closing this as maybelayer since I
 doubt there will be much demand for this going forward.

 The best practice for templating on the frontend would be to use the
 Interactivity API with server-side rendering.
