 Hi All,

 I have taken a look through the ticket and everyone's comments, and using
 these I have attempted to replicate this issue in the latest purely using
 the back office / WP cli, and I was unable to. I have tried all of the
 methods mentioned previously alongside my own theories, and I no longer
 believe that this is an issue within WordPress. I am unable to pin point
 when this issue was fixed in the changelogs, but I can see code has
 changed in quite a few if not all of the functions related to deleting a
 category / term over the last decade.

 As of such I believe that we can safely say this issue has been rectified
 and we should close this ticket. Of course just adding the `close` tag
 leaves the ticket open for further conversation before finally closing the
 ticket, so if there is any more to add to this please feel free to. 😃
