Comment:

 I will commit shortly, I've changed the component to reflect that the
 error was how the options API was using caching rather than a bug with the
 cache per se.

 I'm hesitant to backport the fix to the 6.7 branch as the issue appears to
 be solvable in persistent cache drop-ins, so a workaround is available.
 Please correct me if I am incorrect.
