Comment:

 Due to the complexity and the time passed, I want to offer the opinion
 that no changes should be made in core.

 It has been 3 years since a theme developer commented on this issue saying
 that this is problem,
 so maybe it is a non issue which has already been solved by the theme
 developers in the community.
