It's absolutely trivial to make both groups happy in this case. I've been
told that the problem is,

99.99% essential, it should go away. And instead of adding a million
fields that customize everything to the minimum detail, WordPress uses a
"hidden field" strategy with the concept of "filter hooks".
You can't blame the users or admins for that.
