 At least, I couldn't reproduce the problem in Playground:

 Could you please tell me the following?

 - What kind of environment are you using? Is it a local site or a public
 site?
 - Do you have access to the `wp-content/languages` directory? If so, are
 there multiple `es_ES-{hash}.json` files?
