Comment:

 Thank you everyone for testing and giving feedback. The power of open
 source!

 There's consensus to move forward with this ticket and patch for the
 minor. It direct solves the regression without adding additional scope.

 As it's now well-tested, removing the `needs-testing` keyword.

 As [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/6670 the PR] has
 multiple approvals and thumbs up from committers and the PD feature
 contributors/leads, marking it for `commit`.

 Does it need a dev note? Unlike #61269 which added a filter, this ticket /
 patch does not. There are no changes plugins need to do. Thus a dev note
 is not needed to advise plugins of what to change.

 Assigning to myself to do the commit to `trunk`. Then will reopen for 2nd
 committer sign-off to backport to 6.5-branch.
