 I guess you mean when having several list blocks with ordered items, you
 want the next list to continue from the previous list block (in the same
 container), instead of starting at 1 or a fixed custom number? Since this
 start number will not change when previous lists are changed, it can
 easily be missed so gaps or duplicates may suddenly occur. Been there,
 myself.

 A bit complicated, since ordered lists may have different type of
 numbers/letters/symbols, but i guess that can be ignored and left to the
 author to use the same symbols when continuing in a new block.

 Or are you talking about something completely different, like chapter
 headings?
