 Thanks @Chouby! Can't believe I missed that. Turns out there was a silly
 mistake in parsing plural forms. I'm working on a fix now in
 https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/6005 and will commit
 it soon.

 Please let me know if you encounter any other oddities. The more testing
 the better.
