 Not trying to fuel the debate but just chiming in as I think Windows users
 don't know this:

 Safari on Mac has a setting to automatically open safe files after
 downloading:

 [[Image(https://i.snipboard.io/ysnmOd.jpg)]]

 This means any zip file downloaded through Safari is automatically
 unzipped by the OS. Therefore, a Mac user will right click on the folder
 and use the context menu to zip it again. Their archive is no longer the
 original downloaded from wp.org, but a newly zipped one by Mac.

 This Safari setting is turned on by default so my guess is most non-power
 Safari users will run into issues.
