 @johnbillion, thanks for the clarification on the behavior of HTTP scheme
 defaults in multisite setups. Your explanation about the use of $_SERVER
 ['HTTPS'] to detect SSL is helpful. Considering the increasing importance
 of HTTPS, do you think it might be worth exploring a way to better
 accommodate environments where SSL is already set up, perhaps with a more
 explicit setup option? Your insights are always valuable and appreciated.
