 Welcome to Trac, @visitoranalytics, and thank you for the report!

 This looks a lot like an issue reported in Meta Trac,
 [https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6679]. It was marked as resolved,
 but doesn't mention the indexing/crawl lag for new topics -- I agree this
 behavior is unexpected.

 I encourage you to review (and comment in) the above-mentioned Meta Trac
 ticket -- perhaps it should be reopened for improvement.

 As this issue pertains to the plugin directory forums, and not Core, I'll
 close this ticket here.
