 Completely unrelated to the point above whether we should do this or not,
 it seems this commit broke my WP core dev environment 🤔

 My WP Admin shows completely unstyled since [55703], but without that
 commit (i.e. when running [55702]) it shows up correctly. It may have
 unexpectedly broken something?
