 issues on the Gutenberg repository. GB21789 already has a proposal to ask
 before embedding the link.

 Even if/when the current behavior changes, I recommend avoiding the
 situation entirely. You could use the link inserter from the block toolbar
 (or the `Ctrl/Cmd + K` shortcut). If the URL is important to show at the
 beginning of a paragraph, you could paste it in the link inserter for
 automatic linking as text. And you probably could have more meaningful
 link text than the URL.
