 The issues mentioned above were caused by an outdated package, and it has
 been fixed in the PR already. Tests now pass properly.

 Since this is not strictly an enhancement but more of a performance
 bugfix, can we reconsider adding it to v6.1? It saves a lot of calls to
 get & decode JSON files, and in my tests with Xdebug profiling it saves
 ~100ms on each pageload.
