 Yes, the strings can be changed easily, but the function that adds the
 `http://` prefix has to be updated too. That seems to be part of the
 `link` plugin (if I'm not mistaken, it's been years...).

 I'm also not sure it's worth the effort, unless it is a very
 easy/straightforward change.
