 AVIF is a critical format for sharing HDR images on the web. To the extent
 that WordPress processes images (thumbnails, etc), it is important to
 include some test cases that will preserve CICP / ICC data (along with 10
 / 12 bit encoding as appropriate) to ensure any derivative content still
 shows as HDR.

 Awareness of HDR (brighter than white image display) is currently low, but
 likely to grow quickly with substantial image quality benefits and several
 recent developments facilitating creation and display of this content.
 Apple has shipped hundreds of millions of displays with HDR support,
 Chrome supports it very well now, Photoshop and Affinity can be used to
 display and edit HDR, etc.
