 @azaozz @schlessera I think the best course of action here is to agree to
 disagree as to what this is called. There's an interaction between
 Requests, WordPress Core and PHP so concentrating on that will allow
 Requests to be updated to the latest, greatest and PHP 8 compatibile-ist.

 @costdev have been doing some work for #54582, see
 [comment:45:ticket:54582 ticket 54582 (comment)] and @SergeyBiryukov has a
 [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/3110 draft pull
 request] for that issue too.
