 Another workaround is the following.

 add_filter('pre_site_option_upload_space_check_disabled',
 '__return_true');
 $max_upload_size = wp_max_upload_size();
 remove_filter('pre_site_option_upload_space_check_disabled',
 '__return_true');
 }}}

 As a workaround, is will hotwire `upload_size_limit_filter` function (
 filter ) to not run the space check.
