Comment:

 Since this ticket was opened, https://lbry.tv/ URLs now redirect
 Odysee.com. I'm going to reclose this ticket are there are no longer any
 URLs to embed.

 Adding Odysee.com was discussed in #55278 so any further discussion can
 happen on that ticket.

 > I looked at the questions, and the very first one made me realize
 something is drastically wrong with the attitude. Is the service is
 popular enough for core developers to have heard of it before? Is it
 “mainstream?”

 The reason this is a requirement is it helps ensure that services added to
 the allow list are likely to remain for a long time. If a service
 subsequently shuts down or is renamed, then the embeds will break.

 This ticket is a case in point. Were the service added at the time the
 ticket was opened, WordPress would have needed to remove it within a few
 months.
