 Highlighted in component bug scrub 14 March 2022.
 Copying over update written by Nalini who is unable to add comments on
 this ticket.

 Summary:
 - this ticket was last updated three years ago as needing design for a
 prototype design.
 - Estelaris asked design channel for a review and design prototype. When
 update comes back from design, Mary advised core can produce a patch if
 still is a problem.
 - webcommsat: could not replicate the issue and asked if anyone else
 could.
 - MaryBaum and Meher to test async and add findings to the ticket.
