 Hi there!

 As Gutenberg grows we should consider this ticket and need to implement a
 cache function. @dmsnell can you please create a Patch for changes?

 As per the last comment, @desrosj do you have any feedback on this?
 putting on the `6.1` milestone. It can always be moved off if it requires
 additional work/testing.
