 Hi @peterwilsoncc ,

 I would like to let you know that I've implemented your suggested
 modifications.
 And I've also changed the included unit test.
 It now actually actively simulates the actual cause of the problem, which
 was the failure of a database query.

 I hope to hear if this is more what you had in mind!
