 I  can't recall why $prepared_post->post_type = $this->post_type; was
 removed.

 I think it is a mistake. ( Or it could have been removed because it would
 not affect anything. )

 I rolledback tha line and tested it and confirmed that the problem is
 fixed for both page and custom post type.
