 Thanks for the quick response. :)

 Everything I experienced with these sites worked exactly as you describe,
 except instead of a 302 to "wp-admin/upgrade.php" I get a 302 to "/wp-
 admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fabout.php%3Fupdated"
 which then responds 404.

 The wp-admin/upgrade.php file is present in the install after updating.

 All other permalinks on the site seem to be working normally. Only the wp-
 admin area is inaccessible.
