Comment:

 This should be re-opened because the fix was found to cause unwanted
 effects and is expected to be removed in 5.9.1,
 [https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/37545 see discussion.] A new
 fix could potentially be included into 6.0 and targeted directly at core.
