 I suggest adding '''autofocus''' to wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php
 on line 338 (in latest version-5.9.1 - within the input tag, with id
 'search-plugins').  This is an attribute that all browsers - that I know -
 support.  This will allow the user to (from Dashboard or any admin page)
 to click the add new plugin link and then type their search term without
 clicking the input box.
 Autofocus may also be useful in other forms...
