 Hi @joncampbell, welcome to Trac and thanks for the patch!

 Unit tests are passing and additional testing for PHP 5.6-8.1
 [https://3v4l.org/5DDEZ shows the expected outcomes].

 Moving to 5.9.1 milestone as this is a regression introduced in 5.9.
