 Hi there, welcome back to WordPress Trac! Thanks for the report.

 The deprecation messages for files in `wp-includes/theme-compat/` were
 added in [14365] / #13009. Looks like we may need to update them to
 account for block themes. Moving to 5.9.1 for investigation.
