#55979: wp_sitecategories does not account for different taxonomy

Reporter: axelseaa | Owner: (none)
Type: defect (bug) | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone: Awaiting Review
Component: Networks and Sites | Version: 4.2
Severity: major | Resolution:
Keywords: reporter-feedback close | Focuses: multisite
-------------------------------------+------------------------------
Changes (by desrosj):
* keywords: reporter-feedback => reporter-feedback close
* version: trunk => 4.2
Comment:
Updating version to 4.2 with the (unconfirmed) assumption that term
splitting/shared terms is the culprit to this issue, but this could span
back to 3.0.
I'm going to mark this as a candidate to be closed, pending the discussion
over on #21734 (see my latest comment ticket:21734#comment:19) resulting
in the remaining related code being deprecated.
Global terms was "soft" deprecated in WP 3.0 12+ years ago, and is very
broken in modern WordPress (shared terms and term meta do not work at
all). I'd advise finding an alternative way to accomplish this.
