 Hi and welcome back to WordPress Trac!

 As noted on ticket:48023#comment:1, there has been discussion about adding
 this functionality to core (which was considered plugin territory more
 than ten years ago). Let's keep that conversation on #7650.

 Even if we reopen the ticket, it likely will not be completed soon. So you
 probably want to look into plugin options for your own site(s).

 the basic functionality, and WPBeginner helps describe how to
 [https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/allow-multiple-authors-to-be-
 associated-with-a-post-in-wordpress/ edit the theme template files] to
 work with the plugin.
 - [https://wordpress.org/plugins/publishpress-authors/ PublishPress
 Authors] includes the functionality, plus it can display multiple authors
 on the post without requiring any theme changes (though you may want to
 customize the styles).
