 https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/1684 is a great
 solution - I tested it locally and it worked for my manual test cases.
 The unit tests I added in my PR work as well - You can use them in this PR
 if you want (any feedback welcome, these are some of my first unit tests
 😅).
