 Hi @ujjwalghosh,

 Welcome to Trac! This sounds like the expected behavior. What you describe
 is likely the behavior of a plugin or theme installed to your site. To
 clarify you are following these steps:

 1) Pages > Add New
 2) Add a slug (ie, `test` )
 3) Click Publish
 4) Visit `example.com/test`

 You see a 404 there?

 I wasn't able to replicate that with Twenty Twenty, so can you first try
 to enable Twenty Twenty and then disable all plugins? If you are not able
 to replicate it with the default setup the please head over to the support
 forums for additional assistance:
