 I have just upgraded to the latest nightly build (5.8) and looked into the
 media filter with super excitement! However, it is not there (yet). Please
 let me know if there is something not right which I need to correct.

 I don't know, but perhaps I am not supposed to ask or follow up directly
 like this. Sorry if this has violated any regulation of WordPress!

 scrub and it was agreed by attendees that there is no reason we should not
 consider this filter in the future. :D Marking `5.8` so we can discuss in
 future meeting to figure out the best path forward. The current page will
 need a refresh.
