 @zieladam thanks for your response and for your support.

 Keeping in mind that this is a live site, I did disable all widgets save
 Iskamet and TablePress (an I can't imagine them having anything to do with
 this).  The saving problem remains.

 What you see above, by the way, is the full configuration of the widget.
 Previously, you had to click on something like "advanced" to see all of
 that (and I almost never touch that stuff, nor should most people).
