 I'm sorry that change came as a surprise. There were a lot of notices and
 information flowing through various mediums such as Twitter, Make Blog,
 and WP media outlets. But these don't also reach everyone.

 There was a discussion about this today in Core Dev Chat in
 [https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C02RQBWTW/p1626900738269500 Making
 WordPress slack #core channel]. This is an area to improve and something
 being actively worked on.
