 If there's any chance to get this into 5.6.1 it would be hugely
 appreciated - this is causing major issues for a couple of clients of mine
 who have several WYSIWYG editors for various postmeta fields (using CMB2)
 and the block editor enabled for the main post content.

 Anyone using CMB2 or similar postmeta plugins who have a WYSIWYG field are
 going to be affected by this issue.
