Comment:

 Hi @canoodle2 and thanks for making the suggestion!

 When the "Classic" editor was the default editor, a keyboard shortcut was
 already discussed on #30407. If you like, you could add a comment on that
 ticket.

 I've seen some ugly markup created by switching between the two tabs, so
 I'll repeat the caution expressed about
 [https://make.wordpress.org/support/user-manual/content/editors
 /#switching-editors switching editors] often.

 If you're comfortable with using the Block editor, though, that has a
 shortcut to switch between the Visual and Code editing modes:
 ` Ctrl (or Cmd) + Shift + Alt + M `
