Comment:

 The problem with this methodology is performance; adding meta queries into
 the media library is expected to create significant problems in medium to
 large libraries, and those problems are likely to arise much earlier than
 expected.

 This needs testing that demonstrates that there are no performance
 concerns before it's viable.
