 Sorry, I missed this question before. I'm saying I've seen and experienced
 this problem.
 It is not a theoretical concern.

 I agree that data would be helpful here, whether from the WordPress
 project, or hosts.

 I'll ask around a bit and see if I can find recent data. It is one of
 those things that I helped with a lot in tech support, but that was some
 time ago.
