 No variables have been created yet - the PR we're talking about here is
 this one, [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/818 #818
 CSS: Reduce colors used in wp-admin] (I regret not creating a separate
 ticket for this sub-project).

 Creating the variables will be the next step after this, since we want to
 create a system that will allow for more flexible admin color schemes.

 I'll defer to you here, but would it be strange to have one monochrome
 grey when the rest of the greys in this palette are slightly blue-grey?
 That's why I was suggesting `#ececed`.
