 I almost had the filter option patch ready to share 3 weeks ago, so I
 uploaded it here. If this method is desired, the jQuery needs to be
 converted to vanilla JS for use on the front end and the site number
 probably should be higher than 5.

 On the other hand, a JS-populated menu may be preferable for performance
 reasons anyway (#53213).
