Backporting the fixture method wrappers means that extenders can (a) make
a one-time change to snake_case and then (b) continue testing against
older versions of WordPress.
Looking at the [#comment:2 popular plugins matrix], there are plugins that
support versions older than WP 5.2. If any of these plugins extend from
core's test case(s), then backporting past WP 5.2 helps them and provides
a better dev experience.
