New description:

I am a WordPress user on WP package hosted by IONOS 1and1 UK.
My WP was automatically updated to Version 5.5.
My web site is running well.
BUT when I log on to my WP-Admin I am shown the following:

If I click on the WP Logo on the top left of the screen I get
"WordPress 5.4.2 is available! Please update now.
 Speed. Search. Security.
 WordPress
 5.5
 What’s New Credits Freedoms Privacy
 Welcome to WordPress 5.5.
 etc."

If I click on Dashboard Updates(which shows 1 Update pending) I get
"An updated version of WordPress is available.
You can update to WordPress 5.4.2–en_GB automatically:

This localised version contains both the translation and various other
 localisation fixes.

You can update to WordPress 5.5.1–en_US automatically:

While your site is being updated, it will be in maintenance mode. As soon
as your updates are complete, this mode will be deactivated.
 etc. "

Why am I getting advised to "update" (or downgrade) from 5.5 to 5.4.2?
 Regards
 John Vahgatsi

 Hi @jkvaviation,

 Thanks for this ticket!

Unfortunately, this is not the best place to receive support for issues
like this. This Trac instance is for the development of WordPress Core.

It seems like there is some sort of caching happening within the admin
area of your website. For further help, I recommend that you create a
support topic in the [https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ WordPress.org
support forums], or that you reach out to your hosting provider.

If you are able to determine steps that someone else can use to reliably
reproduce this as a bug in WordPress Core, then please feel free to reopen
this ticket and add that information with as much detail as possible.

I've also removed your contact info from the ticket description. In the
future, please make sure to omit that.
