 this change.

 Because if someone is watching a video, then plays a different one, it's
 difficult for them to understand why two sources of audio is now playing.
 If they're on a device with controls other than a mouse (e.g., keyboard
 only, or no visual screen), it'd likely be a challenge to find the
 original playing video and then figure out how to pause it... so that both
 aren't playing.

 Beyond issues like that, it's just a bad user experience and unexpected.
