 To recreate:
 1. Create a menu
 2. Add a "Custom Link" as a child of one of the menu items
 3. In the database, the post_parent for that menu item is set to 0

 Expected outcome:
 The Custom Link should operate like other menu items, where the
 post_parent is set to the ID of the item it is nested under.
