Comment:

 Agree with @SergeyBiryukov that the text isn't a link attribute and
 therefore doesn't belong in `getAttrs()`.

 Would adding a new function e.g. `getText()` help?

 Is this functionality still desirable in light of the block editor and its
 link components?
