Comment:

 Moving this ticket to 5.7 as RC1 is tomorrow. Why? Discussions are ongoing
 to figure out how to achieve the stated goals. The incremental PRs/patches
 do change source code. Thus, need more time past RC.

 Marking as `early` to ensure it gets continued attention early enough in
 the next cycle.
