 Apologies for getting so nitpicky on docs which I'm sure are helpful
 overall - to help me understand how best to evalute these, is the goal to
 give users a level of documentation that doesn't require needing to look
 at the codebase? In this instance I think it would be better to point to
 `esc_url()` and update the docs there.
