 Please, before you leave yet another pointless and unconstructive comment
 on a ticket like this, consider whether what you're saying really needs to
 be said and delivered to everyone who is subscribed to this ticket.

 Nothing has changed since the last comment that points out this issue is
 ten years old, and the one before that.

 The reason this issue hasn't been fixed is because it's a far-reaching
 problem that isn't clearly defined and has no consensus. It's not much
 closer to being fixed than it was a decade ago, especially with the
 introduction of the REST API and block editor which means the original
 issues exist in more places than have been discussed here or addressed in
 patches.

 This ticket won't go anywhere unless someone decides to own it and focus
 on it and better define it and push for it and collaborate with all the
 teams that it impacts. Sorry.
